No New Additional Parcel Tax in Glendora!
Protect Glendora Residents and Businesses!
Don’t be Fooled... This is an Additional Property Tax!
There is a new proposed parcel tax for the City of Glendora which will be applied to all structures in Glendora, not having a tax-exempt status. This proposed tax is making an end run around Proposition 13 since it was brought forward by a citizen’s initiative, thereby requiring only a 50 + 1% in order to become law. All property taxes placed on the ballot by government entities (like the City Council, County or State) require a 2/3 vote of the electorate in order to pass. This proposed tax is in addition to the property taxes you are already assessed, and it never ends.

The Facts
- Single family residential parcels will pay $.19 per sq. ft of buildings (home) and structures located on parcel(s) including ADUs, JADUs and SB9 units. Garages are included in the footage.
- Single family attached residential parcels up to 4 units, including ADUs, JADUs, and SB9 units and structures located on parcels will pay $.19 per sq. ft.
- All other developed parcels, multi-family residential development of 5 units or more, commercial developments, and other properties developed for non-residential purposes will pay $.27 per sq. ft. of the building plus structures located on such parcels.
- This means that our markets, doctors offices, hospitals, retail stores, hair salons, nail salons, restaurants, and other buildings that support our community will be passing these increased costs on to us. This increase could cause them to close their doors, or move to a more business friendly city.
- Vacant parcels will pay $150.00 in addition to their already high property taxes.
- The parcel tax will increase 2% compounded yearly for the next 35 years. Then it will be halved, and then continue to increase 2% per year forever.
- This tax never ends – unlike a BOND, it is forever!
